Second Daughter is a Philly-based bakery located inside the BOK Building, led by a team of artisans passionate about bold flavors and seasonal ingredients. The bakery offers a rotating selection of pastries, including brownies, babka, sourdough focaccia, galettes, and more, all crafted with an artistic and thoughtful approach.

Within its first year, Second Daughter earned a Best of Philly award for its brownies and was named a James Beard Award semifinalist 22' for Outstanding Baker. Community is at the heart of the bakery, with a commitment to supporting local artists and businesses by incorporating their products and highlighting their work.

Second Daughter’s style is best described as whimsical, abstract, and minimalistic. Inspired by art, botanicals, and architecture, the team creates movement and texture through florals, buttercream, and unique shapes. While they love exploring abstract designs, they also embrace clean, simple aesthetics.

Every pastry is made from scratch to order, ensuring peak freshness. Being based in Philadelphia provides access to exceptional seasonal and local ingredients, including pasture raised organic eggs, local dairy, and PA/NJ-grown fruits, herbs, and vegetables. Second Daughter proudly sources produce from farms such as India, Green Meadow, and Zone 7.

Community is at the forefront of the bakery’s mission. Beyond crafting pastries, Second Daughter is dedicated to uplifting and supporting fellow Philly makers by incorporating locally made goods into their shop.
